Bold Battening
Battening is such a beautiful application whether creating boundaries or cladding walls especially if you are lucky enough to use Canadian cedar. In this project we used battening to conceal high rendered uneven walls over 2 floors, creating planters for trees and herbaceous borders in what was a largely baron environment. The battening with both horizontal and vertical orientations created some stunning effects and unified the scheme including the outdoor kitchen where its use conceals under counter storage.

Benchwork
More often than not it’s a nice detail to emphasis the wooden plugs we use to conceal fixings on benchwork, why conceal them or attempt to hide them when on show it demonstrates the efforts made to create exquisite joinery even in exterior spaces!
